Inefficient

Inefficient is the result of a collaboration between myself and New Orleans composer Ray Evanoff.

It consists of eight small pieces written between 2021 and 2024 for 10-string  classical guitar. The many exchange sessions were an essential part of the development of this music, in which similar material is constantly recontextualised, like observing the same object in different states, and the order of the pieces is at the discretion of the performer, meaning that different iterations are possible. The first performance took place in Leipzig in 2024. 

Two of the pieces (viii.ii and ix.ii) in this collection have also been developed as duo pieces for saxophone and 10-string guitar. These were also premiered in 2024 in London with Salim(a) Javaid.
