I bought the 10-string guitar to learn Richard Barrett’s solo piece colloid, an endeavour which of course took longer than expected!.Although some pieces were written before for this instrument, rather than seeing the 10-string guitar as mere expansion of instrument’s low register, I was interested in developing new repertoire and exploring more an own instrumental idiom (the way colloid does).
